Handling file level externals

Has anyone given thought on how TortoiseSVN should handle the future
1.6 file level
externals capabilities?

The code just hit trunk, so I'm not complaining it isn't used yet, just curious
if anything would need to be upgraded in TortoiseSVN, other than using
trunk versions of the SVN api?

I've been wanting to get a Tortoise build environment setup anyway, and
if it just requires a rebuild this may be a good enough reason to do it now.
