Don't know why, but if your TCVS version really is using the common
overlay handler, it should not have its own entries under
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers
- there should only be the nTortoiseXXX entries.
Maybe your upgrade of TCVS did not remove the entries?
