How to recover from "revert to this revision"?

I wanted to try some code from an old revision. I did "revert to this
revision" on the root of my project, and got a whole bunch of old
revisions of files. So far so good.

Then I was done with the old stuff and I wanted to go back to the
latest version of everything. I tried "update" and it updated a few
files to the latest revision on the trunk, but not nearly as many
files as it had reverted. I tried "update to revision" on the latest
revision, and that didn't do it either.

How do I go back to the latest revision of everything? Thanks.
