Dear TortoiseSVN team,
Sometimes I have difficulties to identify all the switched folders in
my repository (i.e. to identify immediately when my “trunk” folder is
really the “trunk” or some branch switched). Sometimes I think I’m
working on trunk, but after some time I discover that in fact I’d
forgotten to switch back an old branch.
I know I can see the properties of the suspect folder to verify if it
refers to another place in the repository. But this manual method is
highly vulnerable to human-error in my case. My repository
architecture needs to define the “trunk/branche/tags” schema on the
last level, not in the root; so, some sub-trees can be on a branch,
others can be on the trunk.
I noticed that Subclipse maintain another icon overlay to switched
folders (the little yellow “cup” became blue in this case). This
minimizes a lot this kind of mistake. Do you think it would be an
interesting feature for TortoiseSVN too? It’s possible to define a new
icon overlay in the restricted windows slots?
Best regards,
Volnei
