Cleanup failure

From: Lars Zeb <larclap_at_yahoo.com>

I am using TortoiseSVN 1.5.2 bld 13595 on Windows XP SP3.

I
committed 9 files at once. At the end of the commit, I got a long,
multi-line message in red about a failure, something to do with
prop-base. Of course, I didn't write it down. When I Check for
Modifications now, I see there is still one of the 9 files still there,
in Add status.

When I try to commit, it says Working copy '...' locked, Please execute Cleanup command. I try, but it says Cleanup failed to process the following
paths: xxxx. When I try to Release the lock, it says There's nothing to
unlock.

It turns out that the lone remaining, apparently uncommitted file shows up in the Log as having been committed!

What can I do to resolve the problem, and more importantly, what can I do to keep from getting into this trouble?

Thanks, Lars
