Viewing current version in show log

I'm currently wondering - what is the best way to see the current
version that you are working on and possibly see all the changes that
have occured since a checkout was performed?

The only way I have figured out to get this is to right click ->
properties -> subversion to get the version and then go to "Show Log"
to see all the revision that occurred after this version.

Has anyone ever suggested an enhancement to have the "Show log" flag
the current version within the list?

Or maybe I'm going about this all wrong?

Thanks
