bug in Tortoise? TSVNCache.exe

Dear Sir,

We have the following problem with Tortoise SVN.

After we invoke the commit or update command of Tortoise, the computer
dramatically slows down, to the level of becoming unworkable.
Windows Task manager reveals that there is process consuming 95..99% of CPU
resources, called TSVNCache.exe.

Is this a known bug? is there a solution? Our actual containment is to kill
that process after every update or commit.

We have a "Windows XP professional" os.
Other computers using the same repository do not have that problem.
Updating Tortoise 1.41 to version 1.50 did not help.
Maybe important to note is that I use TortoiseProc.exe from a batch file. Yet
the same happens using the gui.

Kind regards,
Bart
