TortoiseSVN 1.5.0.13316 completely broken and won't uninstall

Hi,
I am sorry to say this but TortoiseSVN 1.5 (32 bit) really sucks. On my
computer (WinXP Pro SP2) it behaves as malware: it doesn't do what it's
supposed to do, affects stable computer operation and can't be uninstalled.
1) TortoiseSVN hangs on every other SVN commit, does not react to
pressing the cancel button, slows down the whole computer to the point
of making it non-reactive, and can only be killed using the task manager.
2) I am currently trying to uninstall it. The uninstall has already
taken 15 minutes and seems to have stalled. The installer window says:
"time remainig: 0 seconds" but nothing happens. So it seems to be
impossible to get rid of TortoiseSVN in a controlled manner.
This is just so incredible. How can you release such terribly broken
software?
