If I see that file from another machine or with WebSVN I don't see the

The file was really modified. It's a source file of a program, I can see
the differece with my eyes.

What I would like to understand is how SVN know if the working copy is
modified. I used to think that it compares the working copy with BASE. You
speak about some properties, but there isn't a so subtle difference. The
working copy has some lines of code that there aren't in the BASE.
