How to upgrade Clients?

Hi,

I am new to all this. So if this has already been asked/answered
please point me in the right direction.

I own a few websites and am trying to manage the code in a single
version. i.e. Main code is all the same and the only thing that
changes is all the images.

I have separated all images into a folder (which is not in SVN) but I
want to be able to update all the sites easily.

Is this possible? Currently I have checkout a version for each
Website and am using this. Is it easier if I export? Can I update an
Exported version?
