New To Tortoise

Hi everyone. I have just recently downloaded and installed
TortoiseSVN.

I have read some portions of the documentation, and would love to read
further, but I have this immediate requirement with regards to
versioning.

I am currently using Win2000 and I am accessing a shared folder on a
network drive.

I want to create a versioning control on one of the folders in the
shared network drive.

For example, I have mapped a server drive (SharedDevelopDrive on
LocalCompanyNetwork) to drive G, and in drive G, there already exists
a folder, named SourceCodes.

basically, inside the folder SourceCodes, exists different folders; to
give you more idea, this is how the drive looks:

G:\SourceCodes

Inside this folder contained some more folders:

\FolderApp1
\FolderApp2

Assuming I place 10 files in FolderApp1, I wish to place them in the
repository so that version control could be done.

For example, I wish to set up FolderApp1 so that if User1 and User2
would want to modify files, there's a versioning in place.

I hope someone can help me further on this. The easy setup seems a
bit cumbersome on my part.

Any straightforward process or advice would be highly appreciated.
