Did you delete the contents of the folder, or the folder itself?

It should work in any case if you delete the folder itself and create a
new one. If you just delete the files you might have missed the hidden
folder called ".svn" where subversion stores it's data. Make sure
Explorer is showing hidden files and delete it if it's still there.
