Subversion Merge Tool

We are having an issue with the Subversion merge tool. It shows any
kind of different in white space (indentation, trailing blanks, etc.) as
a difference, making the actual number of substantive differences rather
difficult to locate. Is there any way to get the tool to ignore
differences in white space? The merge/diff tools associated with other
CM applications seem to do this automatically.
