Did not see this in the issue tracker, so asking if anyone thinks this
is worth a Feature Request. Working with properties and the dialog
box to add them.
If no properties are defined, the white text area is blank and the
edit button is disabled. When you have already defined a property,
say svn:externals, the dialog box shows the item as a single line in
the white area and the edit button is disabled UNTIL that item is
clicked on. In both cases, the add button is ALWAYS enabled. I've
had several users interpret the add button as meaning 'click this to
add more of the same property that is showing right now', ie, they
want to edit that property. This happens when only one property is
defined, as it looks like the entire dialog is for that single
property in that case.
Would it make more sense to disable the add button if an item is
selected in the text area? Or, if I choose add and try to enter a
property that is already defined at that level in the folder hierarchy
(ie, is already present in that text area), can tsvn warn me that I'm
about to overwrite my existing values?
I'm not enough of an interaction expert to know what would be expected
behavior here, so if I'm going down the wrong path, feel free to say
so.
