Basic stuff questions.

Hi guys!

Tried a while ago to use TortoiseCVS on my on local projects. But i got tired of it because i really didn´t have any control over what was happening. SVN looks like it has more control then CVS. Espacially like the repository browser.

Anyway...some basic questions. Why do i need to import a file structur in the repository (trunc, branches, tags) if i have a empty project?

Isn´t it the same to just create those directorys and the comit them? The import stuff seems odd.

Branching, tags...can´t get it to work. I read the manual...maybe i am just to tired, can´t get a grip on them on my local project. Is there a great step by step guide for setting up a local repository and working with it?

/Jay
