how to download sourceforge branch read-only

Hi, I'm a beginner to subversion although I use it for work. I've
used subversion, but it's all been set up for me.

What I want is to download a current branch of a software project. I
want to download it read-only and occasionally be able to update.

I want to download this branch:
http://docbook.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/docbook/branches/xsl-epub/

I'm not too clear on the branch/trunk part.

I can download docbook project as a whole
(I need to do this http://docbook.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/docbook/trunk
)

but I can't download the xsl-epub branch or at least understand the
relationship between the xsl-epub branch and the docbook trunk. And in
the main docbook trunk I don't see any directories for epub stuff (my
interest), only generic content---although not the files in the root
directory apparently.

I know I'm not comprehending some basic concepts here.

Using Tortoise SVN, I created a directory, checked out the main
directory, but I don't see anything resembling files specific to xsl-
epub http://docbook.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/docbook/branches/xsl-epub/epub/

So what do I do?

Thanks.
