No, it's versioning folders as well. But there is not a version
(revision) for the whole repository. Every file or folder has it's
version. Now when I work on the branch xy and change a file test.cpp
the first time the branch for that file is created in exactly that
moment.
I understand that the underlying concept is different but still the
graph in Tortoise could be shown in a similiar way. But of course as
you mentioned this could take too much time because of the different
versioning models.
