Ok, eventually this thread can be closed. After countless hours trying
to fix the problem, I found a solution.
1. I came across the cleanup tool CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/)
which fixed some more problems that I had on my XP machine. That's a
really cool tool.
2. I ran again the Installer Cleanup Utility that Stefan mentioned
earlier in this thread. There was now an empty entry (no program
name). I removed this - not knowing what it was.
3. I startet again the TortoiseSVN installer and - oh wonder - it
installed the software without any more problems.
This problem was really annoying and cost me so much time. However,
now I'm happy that I can use TortoiseSVN again.
Special thanks to Stefan who didn't get tired trying to help me.
Cheers,
Dirk
