Thanks again,
Still no success. Tried several mirrors but all with the same result.
I then tried again the more rigorous approach. I used a registry
scanner (http://www.nirsoft.net/) to find all entries containing the
string "TortoiseSVN" and deleted them. But even without those entries
in the registry, TortoiseSVN still refuses to install.
Because I wasn't able to install TortoiseSVN, I installed Subversion
(http://subversion.tigris.org/) and use it with the Sun Netbeans
interface. That works for me but I would prefer to use TortoiseSVN.
Is there a way to install TortoiseSVN without the msi package? For
example, simply by copying the files and creating the registry entries
with a configuration file (*.reg)? I know that is not the preferred
installation method, but if that is a possbile way it could help me to
overcome the installation obstacle.
