Trying to commit many files to svn repository through apache+ssl+sspi

Using the latest version of apache (2.2.8) + ssl, with subversion
1.4.6 and all supporting modules and the windows sspi authentication,

I'm tyring to commit a large number of files to the repository with
tortoise svn, everything goes well until I have transferred 401kb.
then I get an error saying:

Error: PUT of '/svn/ses/!svn/wrk/2cfd0c77-e420-d14d-8ecf-9969f3cd632c/SES_SI/Branch/V5Alpha/OMEGA5.FOR':
401 Authorization Required (https://w-nyctvd29)

even if i selectively commit different files, It still give me the
error at 401kb transferred.

any ideas?

thanks,

P.S. for some reason I have a terrible time trying to access
http://tortoisesvn.net, It times-out often and when it doesn't it
time-out, it takes like 5 minutes to bring up an incomplete page. I
can't read the faq or pretty much anything. I can access all other
websites just fine.
