Problem with tortoise-svn 1.4.8 (files are not shown as versioned)

Hello, I have a problem with tortoise svn 1.4.8. I used an older version
befor, and now I updated to 1.4.8.

I installed version 1.4.8 on my desktop pc and on my laptop. Both windows xp
sp2. On the laptop every thing works fine.

But on the desktop-pc only folders are marked as under version control.
The files don't have an icon overlay, and if I right-klick on a file that is
already in the repository, I only can choose 'add' and can't do svn-actions
like update,commit, revert etc.

If I check-out a repository into a folder, every file and folder will be
added. If I change a file and press right-klick on the folder and choose
'commit', the file is shown as "modified". but if I right-klick on the file,
I still can choose 'add', even if i commited the file via "folder-commit".
If I right-klick on the file and say 'add' tortoise says "file is already
under version control".

The settings of tortoise are complete the same on laptop and desktop, and I
can't figure it out, why on the laptop everything works fine and on the
desktop it don't works :(

The SVN-Server runs on the Desktop PC, maybe this is the reason?

With best regards
Paul R.
