And they are very worthwhile changes to make. People will complain at
first (everyone hates change) but eventually they will come around and
see how valuable this extra effort really is.

My auditors love it - I can tell them everything that was done to
files, by whom, and why.
My co-workers love it - they don't get their work clobbered.
Other developers love it - they can undo mistakes and don't get their
work clobbered.
