Hi forks,
TortoiseSVN user manual writes :
If you want to see the differences between a file in your working copy (by
alex: the base version or the user's modification? ), and a file in any
Subversion repository, you can do that directly in explorer by selecting
the file then holding down the Shift key whilst right clicking to obtain
the context menu.
But I found there might be a misunderstanding of this kind of diff
operation that it can't be done when I made some changes in my WC and
didn't commit to the repository at which time I need to compare with other
versions in the repository to find out the differences. The "Diff with
URL" always uses the base version of the WC not my modifications to
compare with other URLs. I guess I can use "Diff" first to find out the
differences between my modification and base version and then use "Diff
with URL" to find out the differnces bewteen base version and another URL.
But this operation is too complex to normal user and it is hard to
remember the differences. So do we have a method to do this without
switching operations between "Diff" and "Diff with URL"?
Thanks!
Best regards!
Sincerely,
Alex Zhu
