Neat! As I did not realize one could do what you suggest, I could not really 
surmise it from what you wrote either (sigh) but for the benefit of others, 
here's what I deduced from trial and error based on your comment:
 -- display a revision graph for the top level folder of the repository.
 -- select two nodes by control-click, *not* shift-click.
 -- select "compare revisions" from the context menu.
That gave me just the list I needed. From there one can further open a 
context menu for any file in the list and diff the two versions of that 
specific file.
