The 'revert to this revision' and 'revert changes from this revision'
entries execute a reverse merge. That hasn't changed between 1.4.0 and
1.4.5 at all. I don't know why it would suddenly take such a long time
for you. Maybe you have another application which opens and locks
certain files and Subversion simply tries to wait for the file to get
released again?
