Bug in create patch?

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I wanted to create a patch for a project that uses Subversion. In my
changes, I added a new directory that contains a few XML files. When I
created the patch (using the Create Patch item in TortoiseSVN), it
listed that directory and each of its files to be included in the patch,
which is what I expected. However, when it created the patch, each of
the files in the new directory were added twice in the patch instead of
only once.

I created the patch again, but this time I deselected the directory,
which deselected the files inside the directory, then I individually
checked each of these new files without checking the box for the
directory by itself. This time the patch only included the new files
once.

Is this a bug in the create patch feature, or was it expected that I
deselect the directory item?

..David..
