Continue checkout / update despite error?

In some repositories I receive error messages such as "path not found" or
"file not found" for certain files (usually for files that possess a very
long path name).
Once such an error occurs, the entire checkout / update procedure for this
repository comes to an end even if only one single file is affected by this
error.

How can I make Tortoise continue the checkout / update despite such error?
I want to make sure that at least those files that don't produce an error
are checked out.
