Activating SVN columns in windows explorer

"If you want to distinguish unversioned and
ignored files in the explorer, switch to the explorer's
detailed view and activate the column SVN Status."

I tried this but it's behavior is a bit quirky. If you just
enable one of the SVN columns it applies to only the currently
selected directory. If you go to Tools->Folder Options->View and
say Apply to All Folders you see the new SVN column(s) in all
the SVN folders, but in folders that are not working copies
there is another standard Windows column(s) activated.

SVN Folders Non-SVN Folders
----------- ---------------
SVN Status -> Company
SVN Revision -> Description
