Can I get others changes without uploading mine?

Hi,

I'm new to SVN in general but I was wondering how I could get other people's
changes (where they have not altered files i've worked on) but not put my
own changes in yet (as they're still WIP). I've read the guide but it seems
unclear to me as to what, if anything, i need to do
