Well of course. This is an open source project and you are welcome to
modify your own copy of the source in any way you like :)

But as for that making it into the main code base, I think it is very
unlikely. Where would such settings be defined? We already have a
fairly extensive settings dialog, and if we added options to customize
every aspect it would become completely unworkable, and
unmaintainable.
