FYI version 1.5.0 which will be released later this summer (we hope)
includes 'sparse-directory' support. That means you can checkout a top
level folder, telling it only to include child folders but not their
content. For each child folder you are interested in you can then do a
full checkout. Updating the top level folder will remember your
settings and update just the folders of interest.

You can try this feature now using a nightly build from our download page.
