winxp-linux-svn trouble

From: Mark <myforums_at_aanet.com.au>

Hi all
An svn repo was set up for me on a linux server.
Other users are linux operated
and have no trouble checking out the project. However Im on the winxp box
running tortoisesvn am not having the same success.

From Explorer
svn is installed fine it seems. Settings and help files etc all look great.
When I try to checkout adding the text
svn+ssh://servername/svn/projectname into
the url box it asks me to validate the RSA key which I say yes and then It
returns Error: Connection closed unexpectedly

I know I can ssh to the server, do it every day.
ssh me@servername from dos prompt
i tried svn co "above urltext" at a dos prompt but svn does not seem to be
pathed to dos. ie svn unknown command.

It could be a number of things.. I havent used svn b4, for example..

any ideas where to start.
cheers
mark
