vista issue

I just upgraded from 1.4.3 to 1.4.4 on a Vista machine. After rebooting, TortoiseSVN no longer works. I get this message related to TortoiseProc.exe:

This application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.

Any idea what that means?
