Well if the only way you have access to your host is through http (&
presumably ftp to upload your content) and your host doesn't offer
subversion hosting, you'll have to use a local setup. (theoretically I
guess you could use a 'php shell' or a php script with a lot of
system()/exec() calls to set everything up, but that would not be a
pleasant experience I'd say).
