Yes the server currently uses IIS. I'm not sure what version but i know
it's there. Can both be installed and used or is this gonna create too
many problems? I am just not sure that our IT department is willing to
switch this server over to apache (although they do run apache on
another one of their servers). If all this doesn't work out then I
guess i'll just use svnserve but that would eliminate the ability to
view files via the internet, right? obviously there would be no WebDAV
but perhaps there is another way...?

Check whether your server is running IIS already - some Microsoft
components like Exchange Server depend on it. If IIS has already grabbed
TCP port 80/81 you may have a harder job getting Apache running. OTOH I
may be completely wrong here ... maybe someone else can confirm/correct
this.

svnserve is also very easy to get running - see the section in our docs
on how to do it.
