Commit failed (I'm a beginner to Subversion and TortoiseCVN)

Hi,

I was trying to "commit" a C++ file, which I think is the same as
check-in. I got the following error messages:

Error: Commit failed (details follow):
Error: File already exists: filesystem 'C:\[repository directory]\db';
transaction '2-1', path '[C++ file]'

I have the latest TortoiseSVN version. I'm running on Windows XP.
Repository is local (i.e. begins with "file\\\"). Machine is
stand-alone.
