Hi Flavio,

There are a couple of reasons for it.

The first being the ability to use one tool (TortoiseSVN) on all platforms
from their own machines, so if a user does an update etc we don't want it
to get CFLFs appear in it.

Also we currenly use our UNIX box as generic users (Rather than one login
per user) so we would get in a bit of trouble tracking who changed what
if one user accidently saved the svn user/password.
