Branch/tag of files

Hi all,

I´d like to know why we do need to inform a name of destination file when we are branch/tagging a file. Is there another way to use this, without receive error message: "path <folder name> already exists"? IMHO, if we point the target to a tag/branch from one file I hope the name of file could be preserved.

Thanks

Carlos Galassi
