TortoiseProc.exe taking all CPU cycles

Hi all,
I have been using TortoiseSVN on my XP for some time now. However, recently
it has stopped working. So much so that when ever I try to right click and
invoke *any* function from the explorer shell (be it
properties/commit/update etc.) the TortoisePRoc.exe hogs up all my cpu
cycles and does not even perform any function even when I have left it for
over 10 minutes.
I have not been able to figure out what triggers this, and which program
caused this issue, so I just uninstalled tortoise and reinstalled the latest
version. However even the new version does not allow me to open any
functionality.

I tried to find a solution on the FAQ and mailing list (the closes I got to
was the explorer.exe issue but here TortoiseProc.exe is taking up all CPU
cycles), so I am hoping for some answers.

Thank you.

Regards,
Affan Syed.
