Crash when attempting to get a lock on a binary file

('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) The latest Tortoise SVN (7992) crashes for me when attempting to get a lock on a
binary file.

This happened for me at work, and I am trying to report this from home, so I
don't have as much information as I would like with regard to exact revisions of
software. I'm slightly reluctant to report it at all: the "bug" is so obvious, I
suspect it's down to something I've done wrong in installation, but it's
reproducible it on all three (identically configured) machines I have tried it
on. I have tried to send the zipfile crash reports Friday evening, but suspect
they will have been stripped off by the outgoing mail server.

A previous Tortoise 1.4.0 (a nightly build which I think was revision 7626) does
not have this problem.

I also get a crash when trying to use the command-line client to do the same
thing, with revisions 1.4.0 or 1.4.2, but not an earlier 1.3 client. This happens
even with a freshly checked-out working copy (obviously, the 1.3 client can't be
used with a checkout done by a 1.4 client).

Using Windows XP Pro as client, accessing a 1.3.0 server running on Windows 2003
server via https.

Have checked the issue tracker and found nothing. If no-one has any idea what's
causing this, I'll do a fuller report on Monday and find some way of sending the
crash log.

Regards,
