"The log messages can contain simple formatting. You can write text in
*bold*, ^italic^ or _underlined_. Of course, the formatting is also
done in the commit dialog while you are writing the log message."

Wow. That is really cool (no, I am *not* being sarcastic). I don't
know that I see myself or my repository users using this in the near
term, but knowing it's there, I could then have my script which
generates formatted changelogs look for these and generate the
appropriate HTML.
