Overlay Icons Wonky

The overlay icons have all changed. The standard green check mark now looks
like a graph with a couple of blue lines. The exclamation point looks like a
lock or a printer. Neither of them has the nice circle background with the
gradient.

Any idea what's going on here? Is this a known issue? Did I perform some
egregious process which resulted in this punishment?
