I'm an independent developer with over 30 years of IT experience. In various
environments I've used CVS, ClearCase, Visual Source Safe and others. I knew
I needed version control even for my one-man projects, but I was dragging my
feet on implementing it.

I recently started a project, and was offered a full time position I couldn't
turn down. So I developed the spec for the project and outsourced the coding
to a colleague. We were both going to be updating the source, and
synchronization was quickly becoming a bear. So I took a few days to install
Subversion, and a few minutes to throw TortoiseSVN into the mix.

My subcontractor, who at first was resistant to the idea of version control
on a small project, quickly warmed to the idea when he saw how easy it was to
keep our working copies synchronized with Tsvn.

I'm ecstatic because I can easily tweak code without a huge hassle insuring
the changes don't get lost in the shuffle.

A huge thank you to the dveelopers of CVS, Subversion and, of course,
TortoiseSVN!
