Problems with commiting

I tried committing a file to two different repositories. Neither one worked. Both returned the same error message. What confused me was that they were the same system error message:

Error: Commit failed (details follow): 
Error: Can't flush file to disk: The system cannot find message text for message number 0x%1 in the message file for %2.
