Processes hanging around after successful tortoisesvn operations

Hi,

In mid May I asked about a problem of processes (sshd and svnserver) hanging
around after successful tortoisesvn operations.

Here's a link to one of the replies, which suggested I upgrade:

http://svn.haxx.se/tsvnusers/archive-2006-05/0210.shtml

The host is a commercial host, so upgrades were out of my hands, but now
they have occurred, and the problem persists.

Here are the current versions:

Host:

FreeBSD 6.1-RELEASE-p7

Host Svn:

svnserve, version 1.4.0 (r21228)

   compiled Oct 15 2006, 07:43:55

Copyright (C) 2000-2006 CollabNet.

Subversion is open source software, see http://subversion.tigris.org/

This product includes software developed by CollabNet
(http://www.Collab.Net/).

The following repository back-end (FS) modules are available:

* fs_base : Module for working with a Berkeley DB repository.

* fs_fs : Module for working with a plain file (FSFS) repository.

Tortoise on several WinXP systems, Up to date, etc:

TortoiseSVN 1.4.0, Build 7501 - 32 Bit , 2006/09/15 21:34:55

Subversion 1.4.0,

apr 0.9.12

apr-iconv 0.9.7

apr-utils 0.9.12

berkeley db 4.4.20

neon 0.25.5

OpenSSL 0.9.8b 04 May 2006

zlib 1.2.3

I'm using svn+ssh access mode. The repository seems, other than the
processes left behind, to be working perfectly. I don't see any errors on
the tortoise side, at least until my limit in the process table is exceeded,
at which point things need to be cleaned manually.

Any idea what could be wrong?
