I guess I'd feel more comfortable seeing nothing than seeing something
that is obviously incorrect.

I can see the argument that it will be more noticable to have no
overlay rather than the normal one in this scenario, but I'd rather
know that it is not correct than to have to guess when I see the
"normal" overlay.
