With TortoiseSVN 1.3.2, Build 5840 on Win2K:
We keep our local versioned files on a network drive, which slows things down
considerably, so I don't know if this might be part of the problem. Recently SVN told me
to run a cleanup; when I did, of course I immediately got the 'cleanup' popup (showing
cleanup in progress, with a cancel button).
But no change ever appeared in the progress bar of the popup -- it remained blank, as
though this were going to take a long, long time just before I'd even see an estimate of
how long it would take. So I resigned myself to a lengthy wait and found other work to
do, keeping the popup visible in a corner of my screen.
About three minutes later, the popup disappeared and was replaced by a 'cleanup finished'
popup, so everything was okay. But -- several times in the past I'd aborted the cleanup,
thinking it was going to take far longer than I had time for (ie it hadn't felt crucial
on those occasions, so I simply procrastinated). I don't know if progress is shown
properly on other platforms, perhaps, but I just wanted to point this out, as this can
easily be misinterpreted as "nothing's happening; cleanup won't work".
