Processes hanging around after successful tortoisesvn operations

Hi,

After using various svn commands successfully this morning, I started to get
failures: the MSWIN dialog to send failure info to ms ("Tortoise Plink has
encountered a problem and needs to close..."); a dialog from TortoiseSVN
complaining the connection was closed unexpectedly, and so on.

Going to the server (FreeBSD 5.4) I find that there are 60 or so svn related
processes running in my account. They seem to be in sets, here is one set:

root 97704 0.0 0.1 29508 2588 ?? Is 10:53AM 0:00.01 sshd:
pinwheels [priv] (sshd)
pinwheels 97716 0.0 0.1 29508 2684 ?? S 10:53AM 0:00.01 sshd:
pinwheels@notty (sshd)
pinwheels 97717 0.0 0.1 20464 2964 ?? Is 10:53AM 0:00.01
svnserve -t

I looked on google, and found tons of hits on 'svn zombies' but they mostly
related to other projects fixing their zombie problems. I also browsed and
searched this list with no success.

Any suggestions on what is wrong or how to troubleshoot are welcome.

TSVN 1.3.3 build 6319 on win xp
svn 1.3.1

-thanks
