It's partly a svn problem. The newer version ot TortoiseSVN, the
1.4.0 nightlies, have a much better algorithm for generating the
revision graph and I'd highly recommend trying it out. Cut down the
time from 3 hours to 15 minutes in one of our setups. However because
of how svn is designed, TortoiseSVN has to pull down and analyze the
logs for every single revision in the repository to generate the
graph.
