One way is to export the folder, and then delete the version
controlled folder and commiting. After that just move the exported
folder back and your done. Others updating would probably have to do
something similar unless they've changed all the files in the build
output folder.

But why do you need to keep the build output folder, isn't it
recreated the next time you do a build?
